Once upon a time not long ago, there was a group of young professionals who were growing tired of the typical nightlife scene, for predictable dinner and a movie routine was a becoming a bore and the loud and obnoxious club scene was a recipe for a headache. There had to be a way to enjoy a night out and meet new people in the process, but the options were slim. And besides attending networking events, which has never been anyone’s idea of fun, there were no events that made meeting new people an easygoing and entertaining experience.
It was not until Tiffany Wilkins, a young, professional, 30-something year old who hosted a birthday dinner party experience that created the spark of hope for all who needed something new to do while meeting new people in the process. Instead of having a boring birthday dinner where it’s rare everybody knows everybody except the one being celebrated, Tiffany took full advantage of the private room setting and created an interactive experience that was so engaging, they begged her to regularly host dinner parties in the future. It was then she realized she had created an experience that would be the change she (and many others) wanted to see. By May of 2015, The Dining Clique was founded.
Our passion for building a true sense of community is evident in each experience. Our belief is that when you combine Good Food with Good Friends, it automatically equals Good Fun. We promote the importance of authentic and meaningful human interaction by intentionally creating a welcoming atmosphere that is a constant reminder of how more refreshing and rewarding it is to socialize with one another in person rather than over social media. By providing an innovative approach to an upscale pop-up dining experience that inspires all who attend to fully engage in interactive activities that lead to nonstop discussions, contagious laughter, and sophisticated fun, perfect strangers become friends at every experience. Our innovative approach has revitalized the true meaning of going out and having a good time with your people while meeting new ones. In turn, we have become Detroit’s New Night Out and have literally been “saving the day” for all mankind one dinner party at a time.
what is the dining clique?
NTA is a live hosted pop-up game show for families, friends, couples, or even the brave ones who wish to play alone. Our audio and visual interactive games are designed to disrupt the existing trivia night framework by focusing on fun, not facts.
Our host facilitates activities that causes everyone to interact with each other instead of their phones; unless, of course, the task calls for it.
No more attending a “sit and get” event where you quickly become disinterested because you’re clueless or bored by the same ol’ Q + A routine. Besides, who really cares if you know the correct answer to trivial facts the majority of the human population doesn't know because we don't!
We do, however, care deeply about you expressing your opinions on the things we're all passionate about like pop culture, celebrities, movies, music, social media and more!
DISCLAIMER: We do use trivia games and questions from time to time, but ONLY if it's fun! Promise.
how we do what we do
why we do what we do
The real objective is to get back to the basics and rekindle the flame with authentic human interaction.
We want our participants to maximize the time spent in the company of others by taking a break from mindless social media scrolling and connecting with one another through conversation, friendly competition, laughter, and good old fashion fun.
The highlight would be allowing the interactive experiences to be both as a group and as a team. It encouraged those who may be a little shy to feel comfortable. - L. Scott
